FIAS turns 20! FIAS has been bringing together brilliant minds from the fields of physics, neuroscience, life sciences, computer science, and AI since 2004. The vision of two scientists led to the founding of FIAS, the first Institute for Advanced Studies in Germany. FIAS was founded as a foundation institute, which is financed flexibly and in a research-oriented manner by foundation and public funds. This successful idea has set a precedent and private donors are now also an important part of academic research in Germany.

Join us in celebrating 20 years of interdisciplinary research at the Foundation Institute. Enjoy our festive program with a look into the past and the future, the presentation of the Honorary Award for Science Diplomacy.

The event will take place in the Festsaal (Banquet Hall) of the Casino building on the Westend Campus.

Parking: 

If you are arriving by car, we have reserved parking spaces for registered attendees in the parking garage of Goethe University. Simply inform the staff at the gate that you are attending the anniversary ceremony and provide your name. The parking garage can be accessed via "Max-Horkheimer-Straße."
