European Summer School on Science Communication
July 28–30, 2025 at FIAS

Venue: FIAS
This event brings together international experts from science, journalism, art, and communication to discuss current challenges and creative formats in science communication.
Science plays a crucial role in shaping our world – which makes it all the more important to communicate research clearly and effectively beyond the academic sphere. In an era of information overload, strong science communication builds trust, reaches diverse audiences, and helps ensure that evidence-based knowledge contributes to public discourse.
The European Summer School on Science Communication (ES3C) brings together early-career researchers to explore innovative ways of sharing scientific work, making complex ideas accessible, and fostering dialogue with society.
ES3C aims to equip young scientists with practical tools and first-hand insights on how to communicate their research confidently, clearly, and with lasting impact.
The Summer School is organized by SCI-COM, an initiative for science communication that has been hosting events in various countries and contexts since 2017. Their mission is to make science more visible and accessible – not by gathering the largest number of people, but by bringing together the right people to strengthen the dialogue between science and society. Their work is guided by the vision of connecting science and society through effective communication and inclusive platforms.
