FIAS at Museumsuferfest

As part of its 20th anniversary, FIAS presented itself at the Giersch Museum at Goethe University from 23 to 25 August.

Venue: Museum Giersch der Goethe-Universität, Schaumainkai 83 (Museumsufer)

Science at your fingertips in and in front of the Museum Giersch at Goethe University (MGGU).

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, FIAS presented a special interactive exhibition at the MGGU during the Museumsuferfest.

The interactive exhibition invited young and old to discover the world of theoretical basic research. Visitors found out how algorithms work, how drugs are controlled with light and what a neutron star looks like. FIAS processes huge amounts of data from experiments - from molecules in cells to events in galaxies. Exciting experiments for children completed the programme.

How can soap bubbles explain mathematical and physical laws? What is a vacuum? Hands-on science was the motto at the FIAS stand in front of the museum gates. Here, visitors of all ages conducted experiments together with the FIAS team.
