On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 15:00 to 17:00 in the FIAS lecture hall, Prof. Dr. Estela Suárez (University of Bonn / Jülich Supercomputing Centre) will provide insights into current developments in high-performance computing. The lecture in English will shed light on how new architectures and code design strategies can be taken from prototype to productive use - and what role HPC plays in interaction with artificial intelligence.

On August 19 at 2 PM, Dr. Jenny Wagner (Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics, Academia Sinica) presents Lensing of ’69 — a novel approach to gravitational lensing. By using observational data instead of complex models, her method reconstructs the distribution of invisible matter in galaxies and galaxy clusters more accurately and efficiently.

On September 10, 2025, the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies (FIAS), together with the Giersch Foundation, will present the Senior Fellow Laureatus award to Prof. Dr. Ben L. Feringa, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry 2016. As part of the award ceremony, Prof. Feringa will give a public lecture entitled The Art of Building Small, offering insights into his groundbreaking research on molecular machines and motors.
