STARS-School: Modeling Matter under Extreme Conditions

The school "Modeling Matter under Extreme Conditions", to be held from 3 to 5 of May, 2017 in Havana, Cuba, will take place in the E Street, corner of 15 Street, No. 309 Vedado, La Habana, 10400, in the offices of the Institute of Cybernetics, Mathematics and Physics - ICIMAF.

The theme of the school will cover a variety of topics ranging from neutron stars and cosmic matter in the laboratory to novel techniques and approaches in the modeling and exploration of hot and dense QCD matter. It is attached to the 4th Caribbean Symposium on Cosmology, Gravitation, Nuclear and Astroparticle Physics (STARS2017) and the  5th International Symposium on Strong Electromagnetic Fields and Neutron Stars (SMFNS2017).

The school is jointly organised by the Institute of Cybernetics, Mathematics and Physics - ICIMAF and the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies - FIAS.

Lecturers will include Prof. Dr. David Blaschke, University of Wrozlav, Poland, Lecture on „Effective model for quark-hadron matter in compact stars“, Prof. Dr. Matthias Kaminski, University of Alabama,Tuscaloosa, USA, Lecture on "Holographic approach to hot and dense matter“ and Prof. Dr. Marcus Bleicher University of Frankfurt, Frankfurt, Germany, Lecture on "Modeling extreme matter in heavy-ion collisions“.
